Frequently asked questions
Is Teeth Whitening safe?
Yes, as long as it is done by a registered and qualified dentist. Sensitivity of teeth is possible during and/or after whitening treatment.
How long does it last?
The longevity of the results depends on dietary habits, maintenance of good oral hygiene and factors such as smoking.
Typically, you can expect whitening to last from six months to two years, although some studies report results lasting up to 10 years.
Avoiding red wine, coffee, and smoking—all of which can cause staining—helps preserve the results.
You can top up whitening in 6 to 9 months using your home whitening kit if you wished.Y
How much will the teeth whiten?
Clinical research shows that teeth become lighter with professional teeth whitening treatments. It is difficult to predict accurately by how much your teeth would lighten (whiten). The dentist will examine your teeth and give an indication of likely results.
Does Teeth Whitening affect fillings, veneers and crowns?
Teeth whitening has little or no effect on restorative materials such as porcelain or crowns, but it may temporarily reduce the bond strength between enamel and composite restorations.
Will my teeth become too white?
The simple answer is No. Because you are whitening your teeth gradually at home, when you get to a shade you are happy with you can stop; you have control.
